Bothamley Park track updates

The Bothamley Park wastewater upgrade project has kicked off. In late 2021, we asked the community how they use Bothamley Park and how we can make it better for them in the future. The community told us that te taiao (the environment) was important and fixing the wastewater pipe, that regularly overflows into Kenepuru Stream and Te-Awarua-o-Porirua, was a priority.

The 3km of new, much wider, pipes along with a brand new wastewater storage tank being built by Wellington Water beside SH59 will prevent approximately 40,000m3 of raw sewage from flowing into local waterways each year. That’s equivalent to 16 Olympic swimming pools.

It’s important mahi that will take around three years to complete.
